How is FAR Botanicals different from other natural hair care companies?

Fat & Rich Botanicals® products are composed of premium ingredients specifically chosen for their effectiveness in re-hydrating habitually dry hair and reinforcing hair’s hydro-lipid layer. Our products are also concentrated; a typical hair conditioner or moisturizer can contain 70% or more water. Our standard is to keep the water content well below what is typical to allow for a greater percentage of botanical actives. Further, our products utilize lamellar liquid crystal technology to encourage long lasting moisture.

Are Fat & Rich Botanicals’® products just for “Ethnic” hair?

No. Our formulas are for any and everyone who would like hydrated, healthy hair.

Are your products just for women?

No. Our products are ideal for both men and women.

Are your products made from pre-purchased bases?

Absolutely not. At Fat & Rich Botanicals® product crafting is viewed as an art form and every formula is considered an outward reflection of our personal dedication to quality and effectiveness down to the last ingredient. All of our products are made from proprietary recipes created by the company founder.

Do your products contain bee, dairy or silk ingredients?

Fat & Rich Botanicals’® products are Vegan-friendly and contain no animal by-products.

Are Fat & Rich Botanicals® products greasy?

One of our specific goals in creating our product line was to utilize quality oils that absorb into the hair shaft instead of only coating it. With that in mind we have created a line of lipid-based products that will leave your hair shiny and conditioned, but not greasy.

Since you don’t use parabens, do your products need to be refrigerated?

No. We use effective, paraben-free and formaldehyde-free preservatives which protect your product’s integrity for twelve months or greater and all products are marked with an expiration date. With that said, it is important to understand that anything a customer does to change a product such as adding water or other ingredients may serve to destabilize the carefully balanced blend which will render the product’s shelf life unpredictable. For the best experience with your products it’s suggested that you use as directed. It is also suggested that once you are finished using a product, that you store it in a dry area away from heat or sunlight.

I tried your shampoo but it didn’t seem to lather, is that normal?

When customers who are use to using sulfate-heavy shampoos try a sulfate-free product for the first time they may be surprised by the lack of giant bubbles. Our Sulfate-Free Coco-Mint Shampoo Mask does indeed lather, but it is more of a smooth and creamy consistency that sinks into the hair. The goal with a good quality cleanser is to get the hair clean without completely stripping it of its protective lubricants. Are your products scented?

All of our products contain a low-scent but customers have the option of customizing the scent of our Tripled Infused Verde Serum Oil to create a perfume oil for your hair.

Do you ship to customers outside of the US?

Do you provide product samples?

Yes, we sell Sample Packs so that you can try our products before committing to a larger size purchase.

If I’m not happy with my products can I return them for a refund?

Sample Packs can be returned for a full refund within 30 days from the date of shipment (shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer). Full size products can only be returned under certain conditions. For further information please review our Return Policy.

Are your products 100% natural or organic?

Fat & Rich Botanicals’® goal is to create products that contain 95% or greater natural, naturally derived and certified organic ingredients while also utilizing mild, effective synthetic ingredients when appropriate. Any synthetic ingredients utilized in our products are approved for cosmetic use by ECOCERT or the Cosmetic Ingredient Review board (CIR) and are Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the FDA. When making a choice about using a natural or synthetic ingredient, we always strive to select the natural ingredient as long as its effectiveness is superior.

What is your policy on synthetic ingredients?

Fat & Rich Botanicals® goal is to create formulations that contain 95% or greater natural, naturally derived and certified organic ingredients. We also embrace scientific advancements in the field of personal care chemistry and thus we utilize purely synthetic ingredients when appropriate at 5% or less. Instances in which we may use synthetic ingredients are; to guarantee product stability, when a natural ingredient is scarce or rare and a synthetic duplicate is available, or when a particular natural ingredient is less safe to use than a synthetic alternative.
